Programs Leadership & Voice

Sauti Ya Dada

Supporting adolescent girls in their first and second years of secondary school to build critical thinking, creativity, life skills, and advocacy. We safeguard the vulnerable Form 1 and Form 2 transition so pastoralist scholars complete their high school journey.

The Secondary Attrition Trap

Securing the Form 1 & 2 Transition Cliff

Reaching secondary school is a hard-won victory for a pastoralist girl, but retention remains fragile. The jump to Form 1 brings new academic pressures, displacement from familiar Manyattas, and renewed dowry negotiations if family livestock herds suffer climate shocks.

Sauti Ya Dada (*A Sister's Voice*) provides structured peer cohorts, academic confidence coaching, and legal literacy workshops right inside secondary school halls. By equipping girls to articulate their aspirations and defend their educational rights, we prevent mid-secondary dropouts and nurture the next generation of rural community leaders.

"Sauti Ya Dada transformed me from a timid Form 1 student afraid to raise my hand into the head girl of my school. When my father spoke of marriage, I used my voice to show him my education was our family's greatest wealth." — Sauti Ya Dada Scholar, Form 3
